On Thursday, 21 April, the school community paid tribute to Anzac Day, gathering in the Church to reflect upon the contributions made during war and how we too can contribute to peace. Students  viewed a power point of the life of an Anzac soldier, venturing into war, displaying feelings of excitement and apprehension, combined with the incredible bond of friendship.  A minute silence was adhered to, after listening to ‘The Last Post’. All year levels then placed their class made wreaths onto the altar. The Year 6 students presented an excellent explanation of the significance of Anzac Day to the students. RE Leader, Mr. Tierney, commented on how fortunate our students were, in being able to make a connection, and gain knowledge of Anzac Day and it’s themes. The reflection was one of peace and respect and we commend all students on their considerate and reverent behavior.
