Dear Holy Name Community,

Last Sunday, we gathered as a community to celebrate the renewal of the Church’s Bell Tower, with a celebration of the Eucharist, shared meal and concert. Those school families who were able to participate in the event, combined with our wider parish groups, created a celebration that was befitting such an important occasion.

A full Church and crowded hall, showed that we can be a vibrant, energetic Parish, that is most willing to be witness to our faith. Courtesy of the beautiful choirs singing and Father Peter’s thoughtful words, the Mass was a spirit filled occasion. Our own school choir, under the guidance of Mrs Buttifant and Ms Zannoni, were a special part of the celebration. The fourteen children involved, representing grades from Year One to Year Six, sang beautifully, to the delight of the assembled congregation.

Having our Italian, Vietnamese, school and wider parish communities come together in prayer and song made for a special occasion.

As a representative on the Parish Council, and in consultation with Father Peter, we will endeavour to seek opportunities to celebrate as a parish with our various groups coming together.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Tierney
