Twenty four students represented Holy Name Primary School at the Preston District Swimming Carnival held at the Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre last week. Holy Name Primary School participates in the District Swimming Carnivals as part of its comprehensive physical education program. All students competed to the very best of their ability (some for the very first time), as well as demonstrating fantastic sportsmanship and support to their team members.
This year the Holy Name Primary School Swim Team place 2nd in overall points, which was an amazing result.
Listed below are 13 members of the Team who placed 1st or 2nd in an event. These students will now progress through to the Division Swimming Carnival stage, to be held on Monday 2nd March at Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre.
Freestyle: Brock D 1st, Marcus C 2nd, Scarlett H 2nd, Eliza C 2nd
Backstroke: Brock D 1st, Eliza C 1st, Scarlett H 2nd
Breaststroke: Aprila D 3rd but qualifies
Butterfly: Brock D 1st, Eliza C 2nd
4 x 50m Freestyle Relay:
Boys u/11 – Marcus C, Adam S, Dylan G, Anthony P 2nd
Boys u/12 – Brock D, Sonny C, Oliver D, Matthew R 1st
Girls u/12 – Eliza C, Aprila D, Gabrielle D, Keeley B 1st
4 x 50m Medley Relay:
