Farewell Father Peter – a special day of prayer and celebration

Students, teachers and families farewelled Father Peter in a joyful celebration mass for Father’s retirement after serving eighteen years in the Parish. The day began with mass which was a prayerful and happy occasion, filled with much emotion.  Father Peter’s sister, Margaret, was also invited to attend. Following a shared lunch, Father was presented with a gift from the school community, followed by a special performance by Alex, the magician. Finally, staff, students and parents joined in a guard of honour to farewell Father Peter at the end of the school day. Principal, Nick Marinelli sincerely thanked all who helped to prepare the joyful celebration mass for Father including staff, students, and school choir who led the beautiful singing. Holy Name Primary School and Parish has been truly blessed to have had this wonderful man of God leading our community.
