COMMUNITY HELPERS

Today, as part of our Prep Inquiry unit the students met with Acting Sergeant Sean to learn about his job and role in the community. Sean brought with him his two canine partners Nala and Utang who play a huge role in keeping our community safe. The students had the experience of seeing the Police vests the dogs wear and the the vest police officers wear. They got to feel the heavy weight of what police officers have to carry each day. Did you know that a dogs sense of smell is 10,000-100,000 times more acute than that of a human? We got to watch as the Sean played hide and seek with the dogs.

Sean’s daughter was School Captain of Holy Name in 2023 and it was great to have her present catching up with students and teachers.
